670 Broadway
CONSTRUCTED IN 1874 AND DESIGNED BY MESSRS. J. W. AND GEO. E. HARNEY, 670 BROADWAY IS A MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING LOCATED IN NEW YORK'S NOHO NEIGHBORHOOD. BORROWING FROM DIFFERENT ARCHITECTURAL STYLES, MESSRS. J. W. AND GEO. E. HARNEY DESIGNED THE BUILDING WITH ROMANESQUE ARCHED OPENINGS, STONE/CAST IRON COLUMNS, STONE CARVINGS, AND DECORATIVE METAL TIRE PLATES. ONE OF ITS VERY FIRST TENANT'S, AMERICAN CLOTHIER BROOKS BROTHERS, OCCUPIED THE FIRST TWO FLOORS FROM 1874 TO 1884 AND SUBSEQUENTLY, THE BUILDING HAS SINCE BEEN CALLED THE BROOKS BROTHERS BUILDING. THE BUILDING RECENTLY UNDERWENT A GUT RENOVATION WITH THEIR ELEVATORS ALSO RECEIVING A FACELIFT. HER ELEVATORS FEATURE A BLACKENED STEEL DROP FRAME CEILING FACED WITH EOS LIGHT PANELS, CERAMIC TILE AND BLACKENED STEEL GRILLE WALL PANELS, AND ANTIQUE HICKORY RUBIO WOOD FLOORS. 670 BROADWAY'S ELEVATOR IS BOTH MODERN AND OBSERVANT OF THIS BUILDING'S RICH HISTORY, ALL THE WHILE CREATING AN EXPERIENCE THAT IS UNIQUELY INDEPENDENT OF ANY FUTURE OR CURRENT TENANT.
