Constructed in 1952, 315 EAST 72ND STREET IS A 22 STORY POST-WAR RESIDENTIAL TOWER SITUATED IN NEW YORK'S UPPER EAST SIDE. THE BUILDING RECENTLY MODERNIZed both of ITS PASSENGER ELEVATORS, IN WHICH WE WORKED CLOSELY WITH SYGROVE ASSOSICTAES REGARDING THE DEsiGN. Her elevator's are COMPOSED OF A BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENT OF MATERIALS Including: CALACATTA GOLD MARBLE, MUNTZ, STAINLESS STEEL, AND DARK WALNUT VENEER; EACH FEATURE A TOTAL OF NINE (9) PANELS HUNG ON THREE (3) WALLS. The wall's consist of two (2) Dark walnut wood panels on either end and a single "Calacatta Gold" marble panel in the center; they are each held in place by ALUMINUM "z" clips and wrapped with oxidized muntz #4 binders. 315 East 72nd Street's elevators are sophisticated in it's sleek design and use of premium materials, it UNDOUbTEDLY wraps rider in luxury as they ASCEND this full service building.

 
 

The materials involved included the following

  • Drop ceiling: forms and surfaces.

  • lighting: man-d-tec L.e.d perimeter lighting.

  • Wall panels: Each wall consists of three (3) panels. one (1) center panel faced with natural stone, two (2) adjacent panels faced with Walnut wood veneer. all panels are held in place by aluminum "z" clips.

  • handrails: one (1) faced with stainless steel.

  • frieze, reveals, & fronts: faced Dark oxidized muntz.

  • base: faced with natural stone.

  • Floor: faced with natural stone and porcelain tile.
